FY-SS01-500-2S Two-Stage Shredder

Review the FY-SS01-500-2S reference with an 11 kW upper drive, 7.5 kW lower drive, separate Ø200 mm cutter sets and a side hopper.

The highest-drive published integrated FY-SS01 reference

The FY-SS01-500-2S uses an integrated two-stage, four-shaft arrangement with an 11 kW upper drive and a 7.5 kW lower drive. The upper set has 24 cutters at Ø200 × 20 mm; the lower set has 32 cutters at Ø200 × 15 mm. The reference includes a 700 × 700 × 350 mm side hopper.

Review this configuration when material assessment calls for the largest published FY-SS01 two-stage build. The upper speed is listed at 15 rpm; the lower speed remains to be confirmed. Drive ratings describe the reference arrangement and do not establish a guaranteed processing rate.

FY-SS01-500-2S reference specification

These published values describe a reference configuration. Final supply follows the approved quotation and drawings.

Published FY-SS01-500-2S configuration
Parameter Reference value
Layout Integrated two-stage, four-shaft
Upper drive 11 kW
Lower drive 7.5 kW
Reference supply 380 V, three phase
Upper cutter speed 15 rpm
Lower cutter speed To be confirmed
Upper cutters 24 discs; Ø200 × 20 mm
Lower cutters 32 discs; Ø200 × 15 mm
Side-hopper reference 700 × 700 × 350 mm
Reference weight Confirm in the quotation

Cutter dimensions are diameter × thickness; the listed quantity is the disc count. Throughput and output size must be established for the actual material and feeding conditions.

Connect side-hopper loading with the two-stage task

For the 500-2S, describe how bulkier production scrap reaches the side-hopper arrangement as well as what is required after both cutting stages. A complete loading description makes the dimensional and process review more useful than a hopper measurement alone.

Loading presentation
Show the largest complete piece, its orientation and the container or equipment from which it is loaded.
Cutting demand
Identify thick sections, toughness, reinforcement and contaminants, including occasional difficult rejects in the representative material.
Downstream requirement
State how the output will be collected or processed next and what properties a successful two-stage result must demonstrate.

Assess the side feed, both stages and final discharge

The upper and lower drives and cutter sets form an integrated process arrangement. Review the whole route using the intended loading method, with the lower-stage speed and final installation details confirmed for the project.

  1. Check access to the side hopper, including the approach route, usable clearance and agreed guarding arrangement.
  2. Review the upper-stage reduction with normal and difficult pieces in their proposed feed condition.
  3. Judge the discharged material after the lower stage against the required downstream result.
  4. Check the discharge and collection equipment against the real output volume and the way batches are removed.

Separate the side-hopper reference from usable feed clearance

The side-hopper dimensions describe the published reference; they are not the maximum acceptable workpiece dimensions. Confirm the usable opening, piece orientation and loading method against the drawing. The standard FY-SS01-500 lists a single 7.5 kW drive, whereas this model lists separate 11 and 7.5 kW stages. The FY-SS01-400-2S offers another published two-stage configuration for comparison.

Define the complete two-stage handling task

Submit photos or representative samples with material grade, maximum piece size, thickness and contamination. Describe loading, the required output after both stages, the next process and the amount needed per hour or shift. Confirm lower-stage speed, machine weight, installation access and discharge handling before the final configuration is agreed.

Send the required processing amount as a project target, along with the operating pattern and acceptance method. It is not a proven capacity derived from motor power. For branched moulding waste, use the sprue and runner checklist.

Reserve space for loading and stage maintenance

Prepare a layout that shows side loading, discharge, inspection access and component handling. These activities may use different sides of the machine, so nearby containers and conveyors should be reviewed before the arrangement is finalised.

  • Confirm machine weight, installation dimensions and lifting or positioning information from the project drawing.
  • Plan cleaning and cutter-service access for both stages, with the appropriate isolation and guarding procedures.
  • List the included hopper, collection equipment and control interfaces so site-supplied handling equipment can be coordinated.

FY-SS01-500-2S Two-Stage Shredder — practical questions

Does the side-hopper reference describe the usable opening?

It is a dimensional reference for the hopper. Guards, approach, piece orientation and the cutting range also affect usable clearance, so the loading task must be checked against the approved arrangement.

Should upper and lower drive ratings be combined for capacity selection?

Keep the two stage ratings identified separately. A combined number would not establish processing capacity or the load handled by each stage; assess the actual material and the complete two-stage result.

When should the project move to a heavy-duty platform review?

Compare FY-SS02 when feed becomes bulky, tough, mixed or highly variable beyond the intended production-scrap route. Define whether the task is primary volume reduction or a particular downstream output before choosing the platform.
